Following several requests for our service information in different languages, we have considered how to reach out to families who use English as an additional language. We circulated a survey to ask how they are currently supported and what they would like from our service. Following the results from the survey we:
- Considered how to continue to reach out to families with English as an additional language.
- Worked closely with schools to find out how the service could reach families with English as an additional language.
- Explored translating our publicity, incorporating ‘what is SEN’ and co–produced this with settings and providers across Suffolk.
We have now produced some information that has been translated in to nine common languages. The fact sheet and postcards explain what SEN is, and how our service can help. These resources are available to view and download from our website and can be found here:
Lastly, we would like to say thank you to the families, schools, settings and providers who have supported us in this piece of work.
