While we are reviewing the best ways to deliver our service to families we have paused our regular newsletter, and we have a limited offer of live sessions. There is also some interruption to our service development, including content creation and maintenance.
Our priority is to make sure that families continue to have access to information, advice and support which helps them understand and take part in SEND processes. Many parents and carers (and young people) will get the answers to their questions through our existing information and resources (website, YouTube and leaflets).
Families can contact us directly with any specific questions and for further advice and support.
We are also continuing our commitment to reaching SEND young people and families through community outreach…
Benefits of outreach
Sendiass are always grateful when providers invite them to attend their groups to speak to parents and carers about our service, who we are and how we support families.
It is hugely beneficial for us to be out in the community, seeing families face to face, who may not otherwise be able to reach out to us.
We have had incredibly positive feedback from these sessions, where parents have expressed their gratitude for us being able to give them dedicated time to discuss their situations and to be able to give instant advice and guidance rather than having to wait for a response.
Our staff that attend these events feel that it is essential that we continue to offer this for families as it gives us a far wider remit especially in hard-to-reach rural areas.
Feedback from families is invaluable to us shaping our service and ensuring we can provide the services that they need.
